Is Collaborative Divorce Right For You?

I want to achieve the best possible outcome for my children.
I realize that once the lawyers are gone I will have to deal with my ex-spouse on my own.
I want to maintain a respectful relationship with my spouse so we can be effective parents to our children both now and in the future.
I believe it is very important that our children maintain a strong, healthy relationship with both of us.
Though I may be upset at my current spouse I know that a fair financial settlement will benefit all involved.
I want to have more control of my own destiny, including financial and children’s issues, rather than relying on a total stranger to make those decisions for me. (i.e., a judge) .
I value my privacy and prefer not to see all my family matters become available in the public records.
I am willing to commit myself to resolving issues through the collaborative process, which may include the use of financial and mental health professionals, who will provide valuable information both during the process and even into the future.

Choosing a cooperative divorce means that you value an approach that focuses on the needs of the entire family. If you agree with the statements listed above, a collaborative process is right for you.
